Ottomilla is italian for 8000. It references the 14 highest peaks in the world, with an altitude greater than 8,000 meters above sea level. These peaks are also known as the eight-thousanders or ‘gli ottomi-la’. Ottomilla eyewear is designed in Brooklyn, NY, and crafted entirely by hand in Italy, with an obsessive attention to detail, quality, and form. Each model is produced in a limited edition with a maximum of 8000 copies. As a testimony of the uniqueness, each product is marked with a serial number on the inside of the temples. The 8M1 is inspired by the mountaineers of the 1930’s pioneers on expeditions towards unexplored frontiers. The model sports a classic round shape, with a light weight frame made of nickel free stainless steel in a beautiful army sage color, a flat lens in forest green shade, and genuine leather end tips handmade in Italy.
